Profile　細胞はDNA修復・組換えなど、ゲノムを安定に維持する機構を備えています。この中で多くのタンパク質因子がネットワークを作り、細胞周期の進行・複製・転写などの他の代謝系と協調しながら遺伝情報を正確に次の世代へ伝えていきます。 　私はこれまでゲノム安定性を維持するうえで重要な役割を担うDNA修復因子の機能について、主にタンパク質翻訳後修飾と関連付けて研究を行ってきました。まず大阪大学医学系研究科において、日本のDNA修復研究の先駆けとして第一線で活躍した田中 亀代次 教授に師事し、ヌクレオチド除去修復(NER) に関する研究を行いました。その後2011年〜2019年までのべ8年間フランスCancer Research Center of Marseille（CRCM, Marseille）やInstitut Gustave Roussy (IGR: Paris)など、フランスのがん研究の中心となる研究所においてポスドクとしての研鑽を積み、DNA修復の分野で世界の第一線で働く研究者達と共に研究を行いました。英語・フランス語でのコミュニケーション力など、ここで培った能力は現在の研究に生かされています。 　2019年4月より福岡大学理学部化学科に配属され、DNA修復研究の第一人者、倉岡教授のもと、独立した環境で研究を行ってます。出身研究室のPIであるDr. P-H. Gaillard (CRCM)やDr. P. Kannouche (IGR)はもとより、過去の共同研究者でRTEL1研究の第一人者であるDr. A. Londoño-Vallejo (Institut Curie)やDr. M. Modesti (CRCM)らDNA修復研究の先駆者たちとは現在も研究交流を行い、頻繁に最新の研究情報をやり取りしています。 　研究室運営においても、海外での研究経験を生かして積極的に英語を取り入れた教育に力を入れています。週一回行われるJournal clubやProgress reportは全て英語で行い、月一回行われる海外の研究者との研究交流にも研究室在籍の学生のプレゼンテーションを取り入れています。その成果として、指導学生が卒論・修論の発表を全て英語で行いました。今後もこのような教育方針をさらに発展させ、研究をとおして世界に通用する人材の育成に取り組んでいく所存です。
