Profile平成20年4月〜現在に至る 福岡大学薬学部・准教授(令和2年9月まで)、教授(令和2年10月~) 「生活習慣病および炎症性疾患等の病態下における血液脳関門機能変容」 現在その分子メカニズムの解明およびヒトでの予測法の開発を目指している。 平成17年7月〜平成20年3月 米国セントルイス大学医学部内科学講座老年医学科・ポストドクター 「HIV-1の血液脳関門透過機序解明」 HIV-1の血液脳関門透過にはウイルス上のマンノース糖鎖が関与することを明らかにした。また炎症病態下でのHIV-1の脳移行量増大に脳血管内皮細胞由来サイトカインが関与していることを究明した。 「炎症病態下でのアミロイドβの血液脳関門透過機構」 炎症病態下ではアミロイドβの血液脳関門での排出障害が惹起され、アルツハイマー病進展の一因となることが示唆された。 平成16年4月〜平成18年3月 福岡大学高機能物質研究所・ポストドクター(平成17年9月まで)、研究員(平成18年3月まで) 「後期糖化反応生成物特異的受容体を介した血液脳関門病態の解明」 後期糖化反応生成物およびアミロイドは血液脳関門上に発現する後期糖化反応生成物特異的受容体を介して血液脳関門障害を引き起こす可能性を指摘した。 平成11年4月〜平成16年3月 九州大学大学院薬学研究科修士課程(平成13年3月まで)、博士後期課程(平成16年3月まで) 「免疫抑制薬cyclosporineによる血液脳関門障害」 脳ペリサイトによる脳血管内皮細胞の密着結合性強化およびP糖蛋白質(P-gp)発現量増大を明らかにし、この過程における脳ペリサイトが産生するTGF-β1の促進的関与を指摘した。脳血管内皮細胞-グリア細胞および脳ペリサイト共培養系において、免疫抑制薬による脳血管内皮細胞透過性亢進およびP-gp排出能阻害に代表されるBBB機能障害が、グリア細胞由来一酸化窒素(NO)産生の増大および脳ペリサイト内TGF-β1の減少を介して増悪されることを究明した。脳虚血既往歴が免疫抑制薬の脳移行性を変化させ得ることを明らかにした。 「プリオン病治療候補薬キナクリンの血液脳関門透過機序」 プリオン病治療候補薬キナクリンの血液脳関門透過におけるP-gpによる排出および有機カチオントランスポーターOCTN1による取り込み機構の関与を明らかにした。
